Our new project for Makana Home. Bespoke handmade furniture. The pin legs have been made by a local Black Smith, Luis. Crafted in his workshop shaped and welded by hand. The wood top was cut from a huge profile of a tree and finish by hand from a Capintarias in the Monchique mountains. The wood comes from a Portuguese Faia tree and has the most amazing grain and markings. Each part of the table has been hand crafted by small Portuguese industries and assembled by ourselves. The start of our new venture.

This is my first experiment with concrete! Drawn to the contemporary and natural feel of this material and inspired from our trip to the Azores. Concrete appeared in the exterior & interiors giving a modern, industrial look. Complimenting the raw materials featured in the Azorean architecture of natural lava stones, Azorean pine and cork.

Following this inspiration I have started to make a small range of candles with hand poured soya wax scented with Basil, Peppermint, Rosemary & Lime.

Wood Project

Working on wooden cutting boards..my new obsession. Made from Portuguese Oak sourced from the Monchique Mountains in the South of Portugal. The profiles of wood have been cut to shape. Keeping an organic feel and following the natural grains in the wood. The boards have then been sanded and edges softened and finish with a natural oil ready for use.
